Had a good day out yesterday at the Kirkcudbright Art Trail with my friend Marlene. The weather was good and there is a lot of art everywhere you look. I was very taken with Pauline Saul's fish:

Had a look round the garden at Broughton House:

I really like the place, and there is so much art to see that it would be worth staying for the weekend.

Today in the garden I watched a pair of blackbirds frantically trying to satisfy the appetite of a cuckoo chick. I hope I'll be able to photograph them!

I've spent the last two Sundays attempting to paint - entirely unsuccessfully - in a photogenic garden belonging to Mary, our Art Club chairperson. While my paintings were rubbish, I took some photos that were acceptable.
